I landed back in London last week… no Picanha, no outdoor muscle gyms, no petrol station parties and yeh you guessed it plenty of rain!
While the days start drawing dark its time to get down to some hard work in the studio and thrash out a new EP I am working on due for release early next year.
I am currently working with two well respected producers, Jeremy Sylvester (formerly signed to Azuli records and Roger Sanchez’s STEALTH label), someone who I have been a fan of since he released all of those classic Garage nuggets back in the day on the Nice n Ripe imprint.
I will also be spending some time with a new guy on the block, up coming DJ/Producer Dave Silcox (Sony/ATV records) who has recently been commisioned to remix for the likes of Professor Green, My Toybox, N-Dubz and loads more. The kid knows his shit and is definitely one to watch rise over the coming year.
Ive got a very special female MC to feature on one of the tracks, someone who has previously created some heat but whos time is to come, I just hope I can play a part in making that happen…cant wait to play you the finished track! The project is a being kept behind closed doors for now although I can say the music will be heavily influenced by all of the sounds I have been passionate about over the last ten years not to forget the new sounds i’ve discovered whilst touring Brazil. I’ll have some unmastered samples to play you soon so keep checking back.
Here’s a little video clip from the very early part of my tour in Sao Paulo, keep your eyes peeled for the second clip which goes through my discovery of the cool clubs in Goiania (mainland Brazil), a Favela tour in Rio and the Baile funk parties that have influenced a lot of the upfront dance culture we are hearing right now.
I recommend watching Diplo’s Favela on blast documentary, its a winner.
