Due to embark on a Brazilian tour of beat laden sounds, Londons up coming DJ/Producer Richie Silver is currently in the process of collaborating with homegrown Brazilian production talent and established dance nights in support of his forthcoming digital EP release.
A collaboration with Mad Decent’s electro pop outfit Bonde de Role has been confirmed, Richie is now on the prowl for further up coming producers on a similar vein to Buraka Som Sistema and Major Lazer where future London underground sounds meet all new Brazilian experimental rhymths.
Influenced by some of London’s rising dance music producers, Richie Silver’s musical journey started inadvertently through a mish mash set of old clapped out drums, zender cymbals, brit pop and odd rave tapes of the 1994 era. Since then Richie has gone onto become a household name for London VIP parties and exclusive one off shows across the globe. The passion for a variety of music influenced him to combine a growing playlist cutting through limitless genres and stepping the boundaries with a mix of accessible funky house, twisted disco, electronic, funk and nu beats whilst maintaining his own distinguishable London sound.
International coverage beckoned back in 2001 when Richie was flown out to Ayia Napa to play for iconic events such as Garage Nation and Twice as Nice. Highlights included performing at Castle Clubs biggest night of the season warming up for Carl Cox and Roni Size and regular support slots with Radio 1’s Dreem Teem and Kiss Fm’s DJ EZ. This proved to be a big career step and a residency shortly followed with the Worlds Most Glamorous Clubbing Brand Miss Moneypennys in the UK.
The following year Richie was flown out to Faliraki, Greece and then onto Malia, Crete meeting the needs of the millions of UK tourists flocking into the resorts respectively. With a genuine passion and love for music Richie went on to study a two year HND professional music studies course learning vital elements in music production, composition and studio process. Whilst in the studio Richie complemented his craft working for Galaxy Radio and the Urban department of Atlantic Warner.
A weekly fixture was soon established with residencies kicking off with Sintillate, Sobar VIP, Indi bar, Spin, Bambu VIP and the well respected late night Bushwackers after parties. With reputation growing he soon got the opportunity to perform at all star celebrity events, most notably spinning the decks for Rock4Haiti hosted by Lindsay Lohan.
By 2009 Richie became a household name in London central playing mashup sounds at his place of residence in Camden whilst dropping the more upfront sets at exclusive celebrity hangouts gaining him a DJ cameo TV appearance on BBC’s Wags to Riches presented by Annie Mac. His performances have extended to parties at Amika, Maya, Funky Buddha, Dolce, Studio Valbonne, Cavendish No.5 and Twenty Four supporting a roster of international acts such as K-Klass, Tony Touch, Kellie Acreman, Out of Office and up coming Paris/ NYC DJ Getdown.
Working as a digital marketing manager at Sony/RCA music Richard has gained invaluable industry experience supporting international priorities Beyonce, Pitbull, Britney Spears, Hurts and Oh land. Surrounded by top global producers, music writers and upcoming talent Richie is as ready as ever to spearhead the forthcoming London meets Brazil project set for release 2012.
